Four closed fronts give this tall sideboard by Svenska Möbelfabrikerna Bodafors an almost architectural tranquility. The warm mahogany, the slender base, and the long handles emanating from the doors give the cabinet a particularly refined and balanced silhouette. The model is known as number 2910 and dates from circa 1949. In historical sources, the design is attributed to both Axel Larsson and Bertil Fridhagen. Both designers were associated with Bodafors, but because the documentation regarding this specific model is not conclusive, we deliberately stick to either Axel Larsson or Bertil Fridhagen. The four doors are constructed with softly recessed panels. When closed, the long wooden handles meet in pairs, forming a strong vertical detail on the front. Small brass hinges and dark ends on the tall, tapered legs provide subtle accents. Much attention has also been paid to the finish behind the doors. Three compartments accommodate shelves, while six individually removable wooden trays are housed in the bottom right. These trays, in particular, are beautifully crafted. The thin sides curve upwards from the surface in a flowing curve, and each tray rests individually in wooden guides. They can be completely removed from the cabinet and used, for example, for crockery, glassware, or smaller objects. This piece has been fully and carefully restored by us in the workshop.
