Mid-Century Oak Executive Desk, Denmark, 1960s

This oak executive desk was manufactured in Denmark during the 1960s. The piece represents the characteristic qualities of Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern design, combining a minimalist form with functionality and high-quality craftsmanship. The desk is crafted from oak wood. It features two symmetrically positioned suspended drawer units, each fitted with three spacious drawers. Distinctive details include the elegant brass handles, which create an attractive contrast with the warm tones of the wood. The upper drawers are fitted with locks. The slightly projecting tabletop, slender legs, and suspended drawer units give the desk a sense of visual lightness and harmonious proportions. The desk is freestanding, allowing it to be positioned centrally in an executive office or workspace. The desk has undergone comprehensive woodworking restoration. The wooden elements were stripped of the old coating, stained in an oak colour, and finished with a durable high-quality semi-matt lacquer, which protects the surface while enhancing the natural grain of the wood. Additional dimension: Width of the kneehole: 61 cm.
