Rare murano glass barovier & toso rostrato vase, large model, handmade by master glassmakers in the 1940s. Rostrato refers to the glass technique of independently stacking each of the glass "points" in rows to obtain the final shape (here 12 rows). Presence of numerous bubbles, a guarantee of artisanal know-how. Superb piece whose highly technical glass work makes it a work of art. This incredible finish of rostrato glass will match surprisingly with any interior and floral arrangement. The price takes into account its defects and wear. Note, a missing point on the top of the vase (last photo) wear and small losses are present on the points, which is very often the case on this model. Some impurities are trapped in the glass (penultimate photo). The presence of these few darker points is linked to the artisanal work during which sand, sodium (which allows elasticity and maneuverability) and arsenic are added. These wears/defects are especially noticeable to the touch. The complexity of the structure of the vase makes its defects visually very discreet. Height 25cm diameter 13.5cm weight 2.365kg ref 113/25.
