Description
From my personal collection: pair of bouffioulx sandstone candy boxes (belgium) dating exactly from 1978: I bought them new at the pottery shop a little before the final closure of the pottery... The ceramics are the same size and form, only the decor changes. They are both signed "grégoire" and one still bears its "grégoire châtelet" sticker. For the history: bouffioulx is a village included in the entity of châtelet in belgium; pottery has been made there since the 13th century, from utility ceramics (sewer pipes, etc.) to artistic ceramics. Only 2 potteries are still operating today in bouffioulx. This model is quite rare and in a pair even rarer. Good general condition of the two ceramics.
