Set consisting of 4 saucers and 2 cups from the Sarreguemines factory dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. It is adorned with delicate hand-painted motifs depicting a central insect surrounded by polychrome floral friezes. ⚠️ The set shows significant signs of wear: 1 cup is cracked, the other is chipped at the bottom. 1 saucer is chipped. This service is more suited for a collector. The ornate crest containing the inscription "ROUEN" designates the model of the decoration. The black handwritten signature: This is the calligraphic marking of the "Sarreguemines" factory, emblematically used by the pottery Utzschneider & Cie (U&C). • The period: The combination of this black cursive signature and the model cartouche allows us to date the saucers' production to the late 19th century, more specifically between 1875 and 1900. The four small square dots and the impressed number (slightly visible under the glaze) correspond to the workshop marks specific to the shaping workers and the firing typology of the time. • The cups: approximately 6 cm in diameter (height) with a height of about 6 cm. • The saucers (dishes): a diameter of approximately 12 cm.
