large wooden and copper-made box

This exceptional box was unearthed and purchased in 1972 in krakow. Made by a local craftsman, it was decorated with pieces from the portal of an old 18th century building that had just been demolished. The craftsman wanted to give it an interesting medieval character. It has long contained letters and photos. It closes with a small delicate key that must be turned to the right to open the box. So don't force it!.
