Old jar with leeches with a foot with three dolphins - xixth. Blown glass jar and molded glass base of blue shade decorated with dolphins. Good condition, slight traces of time. Height: 26.5 cm. Diameter at the neck: about 14 cm. Sinned for their medicinal virtues, bloodsuckers were used to make bloodletting and thus purge bad blood or "bad moods". The leech jar in the shape of a globular aquarium on a peduouche was equipped with a wide ledge that allowed to attach to it thanks to a link a paper pierced with holes to prevent the animals from going out, while allowing them to breathe.
