Mediterranean landscape signed N. Pichot

Oil on cardboard framed and signed Noël Pichot lower left. Noël Pichot (1900-1972) comes from a family of silk workers from Lyon; he trained at the Beaux Arts in Lyon and participated in several editions of the Salon d'Automne. A landscape painter, he expressed himself in the art of watercolor and oil painting. This sunny landscape, painted in oil on thick cardboard, probably represents a Mediterranean seaside. It is highlighted in a carefully renovated 1950s wooden frame (entirely sanded then lightly stained and varnished). - Total dimensions (frame): 43 X 51cm - Painting dimensions (without frame): 30 X 38.5cm - Good general condition, the edges of the cardboard in the lower part are a little altered on 0.5cm (but invisible because under the frame), some missing parts in the upper part in the blue sky (see detailed photo but discreet).
