Description
A rare set of 6 1960s 'chelsea' hanging pendant lights each with coloured whitefriars glass tubular bubbled shades. Originally designed in 1958 by peter rodd & richard stevens for thorn atlas lighting. Each pendant features a cylindrical black lacquered bulb holder which the glass shade clips into. The coloured shades have an interesting bubble pattern within them which reflects the light beautifully. Colours: 1 X blue. 1 X brown. 2 X amber. 2 X red. In full working order. At the moment each pendant has a 3 pin plug fitted to it but they can easily be wired into a ceiling perhaps over a breakfast bar or dining table as a suggestion. In very good vintage condition. Dimensions: adjustable height: 145cm tube: h: 25cm diameter: 6 1/2cm. The design won the design centre award in 1960.
