Coffee table with a brutalist, minimalist design in fractal stone, resin with a steel base and inclusions attributed to Marie-Claude de Fouquières. France. 1970s. Dimensions: 100 cm long, 41 cm wide and approximately 44 cm high. Weight approximately 30 kgs. Four-legged steel base. Unique piece. Wife of a major plastics industrialist, Marie-Claude de Fouquières made her first piece of furniture in polyester resin in 1969 because she could not find a table to her liking. Then she experimented with thick colored polyester resin and created tables, desks, objects, lamps, panels which very quickly met with great success with private clients like David de Rothschild, the Emir of Qatar or famous decorators like david hicks, alberto pinto or henri samuel... Marie-Claude de Fouquières' signature is her "burst" resin, a spectacular effect obtained by means of a chemical reaction which gives an incredibly poetic result. In 1977, upon the death of her husband, she stopped working and resumed her professional activity. Some slight gaps as you can see in the photos which do not detract from the beauty of this painting. The table leg is made of steel, in vintage condition. The base has not been redone or repainted to retain the brutalist and authentic character of this coffee table. The underside of the table has some points of wear but the solidity of the table is guaranteed without any problem.
