This classic design lamp is an early production castiglioni design. It is the larger gatto design for flos, italy. Gatto table lamp was designed by achille and pier giacomo castiglioni for the italian lighting brand flos in 1960. An italian word for a cat, gatto is made of a steel frame that gives the lamp its curvy cocoon and playful silhouette. The thin, slightly transparent material of the diffuser filters the light in a soft and smooth way. Gatto is a lovable example of the modernist style of the 1960s, and it creates a fresh and timeless atmosphere also in contemporary interiors. In good condition - the diffuser material has darkened a bit with age and there is just one small edge wear that is stable.
