Honduran Mahogany Dressing Table with Lion Paw Carved Legs, Victorian Style

We are delighted to offer for sale this exquisite quality dressing table or vanity dating from around 1900, made of Honduran mahogany, with sculpted legs in the form of hairy lion paws. This piece is part of a larger set that includes a pair of accent chairs, a large triple wardrobe with country-style drawers inside, a dressing table, a chest of drawers, a bedside table, and a bed. This auction concerns only the piece detailed above; all other items are listed separately. This set is of sublime quality, featuring some of the finest carvings and proportions ever seen. The table has elegant cabriole legs hand-carved with lion paws at the front and back. The wood is Honduran mahogany, a rare species today, known for its incredible patina and used on some of the most expensive pianos in the world. This piece is designed to be used with a mirror at the back, with fittings in place should the new owner wish to install one. Regarding the condition, it is perfect for its age, having been lightly cleaned, waxed, and polished from top to bottom, with an authentic patina due to genuine age.
