Vintage design. An imposing candelabrum following a design by Bertil Vallien and Axel Stromberg for Kosta Boda and Boda/Bolin Smide. Handcrafted in Sweden. Here is a rare and large version with 12 arms. A classic design with traditional elements of Scandinavian design. The high craftsmanship is visible in the details, especially the materiality in the combination of dark metal and clear glass. The candelabrum has twelve arms, arranged around the centre on two levels with six arms each. The arms are riveted around the core on a ring. The upper degree is decorated with the traditional ornament of the three-leaf clover. At the lower part, the arms are bent at a right angle and finished with a support. The functional supports serve to assemble the glasses. Thus, the glasses can be removed, cleaned, or replaced. The glasses are designed like a shell at the top, with a bulbous lower part. In the middle, they taper to accommodate the support. Inside the glasses, there are removable metal inserts as candle holders. The candelabrum can be used with regular candles and tea lights. The suspension is also forged. Three fine rods converge in a special clamp where the actual chain is suspended. The candelabrum is in very good condition and shows little signs of wear.
