We are delighted to offer for sale this superb Victorian sugar bowl from early 1844 with a fully hallmarked sterling silver lid made by the great silversmith William Moulson. A very beautiful and well-made decorative piece, the main body is cut and the lid is sterling silver, which is hallmarked as follows: date letter: J for 1844, town mark: leopard's head for London, sterling silver: lion passant for sterling, maker's mark: WM for William Moulson, extras: profile portrait of the young Queen Victoria. The condition is excellent as far as possible, there are a few slight indentations on the lid that could be straightened, the glass shows normal patina, it is 180 years old so a little patina can be forgiven. Dimensions: Height: 17.5 cm, Width: 6 cm, Depth: 6 cm.
