Bronze André Pierre Schwab

Hello. I propose you this small bronze or brass plaque made by andré pierre schwab. Very good general condition. The photo is a bit dull but the object has a nice patina. Representation of an old breton couple in front of a fireplace. The woman wears a collar and headdress from the "giz-fouenn" fashion and holds a cattail. Various objects are placed on the mantle of the fireplace, including a crucifix. André pierre schwab is a sculptor, engraver, medallist, he was born in nancy in 1883. He was a pupil of jules-clément chaplain and marius jean mercié. He exhibited in paris, at the salon des artistes français from 1905 of which he was a member sociétaire hors concours; he won a gold medal in 1926. Size: Height: 6 cm. Width: 4.8 cm.
