Antique cup with handles – Lavallière model – Sarreguemines

Charming bowl with handles in fine earthenware stamped Sarreguemines, Lavallière decoration. Its polychrome floral decoration with a slightly Japanese look mixes peonies, pansies and stylized foliage in a very delicate composition, enhanced by subtle burgundy red details on the handles. The stamp is very faded, but the decoration and the shape clearly identify the Lavallière model, produced in Sarreguemines at the turn of the 20th century. Estimated period: circa 1900–1920. The Lavallière decoration was produced from the end of the 19th century and has undergone several variations. The floral style and the colors correspond well to this pivotal period between fin-de-siècle romanticism and the beginnings of Art Deco. Diameter with handles: 16.5 cm, height 9 cm Good condition no chips, no visible cracks. Some micro-glaze cracks. Discreet patina of age, some signs of wear consistent with age. A piece full of freshness and poetry, perfect as a centerpiece, fruit bowl, or for holding rustic bouquets.
