Set of 4 vintage stackable Pagholz Pagwood chairs, carefully restored in 2025. Their timeless design, combining molded wood shell (Pagwood) and tubular steel frame, makes them seats that are robust, practical and elegant. Restoration. Shells: sanded, patinated "popote des antiquaires" in three layers. Glossy finish that can be softened to a satin finish by polishing. Steel frames: sanded and applied three layers of glycerophthalic black, baked with a blowtorch between each pass and sanded with a "popote des antiquaires" finish. Finishes: brass fixing eyelets. The 4 chairs have been restored identically. Details & dimensions. Total height: 76 cm - Seat: 43 cm. Width: 41 cm - Depth: 45 cm. Weight: 3.5 kg per chair (14 kg for the whole set) Special feature: one of the chairs has a stain in the wood, probably related to the species or the manufacturing process, remaining very consistent and aesthetic (see photo). Brand & process. Pagholz / Pagwood (Germany, 1960s): shells obtained by compressing beech veneers impregnated with phenolic resin, guaranteeing strength and longevity. These chairs, which are stackable, have been highly sought after since the 1990s by designers for their vintage industrial style and durability. Kind regards.
