Description
Janssaud 19th century old marine painting painting. Subject: navy. Mathurin Janssaud was born in Manosque on March 29, 1857 and died in Paris on January 27, 1940. He is a French post-impressionist painter, known for his watercolors and for having been part of the Concarneau group. He left his native province before the start of the First World War and went first to Paris, then to Brittany, whose landscapes interested him. It was therefore in Concarneau that he settled with eleven other artists. Medium: watercolor on paper. Dimensions: 22.5 x 18 cm. Condition: good general condition (see photo) Period: 19th century. Signature lower right “janssaud”.
