19th century red marble spheres

Pair of full spheres in veined red marble, approximately 8cm in diameter. Place on matching marble column legs. Dating from the 19th century. A marvel of balance. To be transformed into staircase balls or to adorn a piece of furniture for example. Height once placed on the bases: 13.5cm these have chips at the corners.
