Oil on panel signed Rabier – Corniche d'Or, Estérel – Around 1920

Large oil on panel signed Rabier, depicting the red rocks of the Estérel massif and the famous Corniche d'Or on the Côte d'Azur. Beautiful post-impressionist panoramic composition with luminous colors and generous impasto, blending ochres, reds, violets, and Mediterranean blues. In the foreground, the old cobbled road and its retaining wall evoke the Corniche d'Or in its historical state, after its inauguration in 1903. Work signed "Rabier" in the lower left, possibly attributable to Gabriel Rabier (1884–1955), a French painter who stayed in Fréjus after his injury during World War I. Period: around 1920–1930 (estimate). Dimensions: 98 × 52 cm, thickness 5 mm. Technique: oil on plywood, unframed. Condition: good overall condition after cleaning, slight signs of aging visible in the photographs. The last photograph is a simulation of the artwork in context.
