Two botanical plates of ferns: three-pointed rigid polypode, alpine polypode

Alpine polypode and three-pointed rigid polypode. Two beautiful chromolithographies older than 128 years from a botanical encyclopedia, around 1889. These print runs are becoming increasingly rare as the stock of original editions decreases. Fern prints are particularly difficult to find. The plates are in good condition. Some have few imperfections, others have aging hues or character freckles, one or two are more strongly freckles but you can see marks on the scans. Each print is blank on the back. The paper size varies slightly from print to print, but measures about 6 X 9 inches or about 15 X 22 cm. Your prints will be protected by a polyethylene/cello bag, in a rigid packaging.
