Scandinavian mahogany side table, 1950s–1960s

Rectangular side table with mahogany structure and lower shelf. Scandinavian production, 1950s–1960s. Dating from the 1950s–1960s, this mahogany side table belongs to the Scandinavian production of the mid-20th century. The rectangular top projects slightly beyond the frame and is defined by a rounded, moulded edge; immediately below, a second moulding runs around the apron, emphasizing the thickness and presence of the upper section. The four more slender, almost square-section legs meet the apron through shaped, curved junctions, particularly visible at the corners. Below, a thin rectangular shelf is set directly between the legs, without repeating the more elaborate detailing of the top. The contrast between the more structured upper section and the restrained design of the base, together with the warm tones of the mahogany, defines the character of the piece. Good condition.
