Enfilade with 5 rosewood doors, Faubourg Saint-Honoré furniture.

Enfilade in rosewood, Louis XVI style. Madagascar rosewood on solid wood. The varnish is original and well preserved. Top in white Carrara marble. Purchased in 1965 by my parents. A small chip, see photo, nothing else to report, varnish okay, marble okay. Length 250 cm. Symmetrical grain in butterfly wings (veneer in an open book). Warm brown colour leaning towards honey/amber, quite consistent. Design rather soft and fluid, without very dark contrasts. Neoclassical / Art Deco style furniture with bronze fittings. Available for collection. A very beautiful piece that will become increasingly rare. Rio and Madagascar rosewoods (Dalbergia from the island of Madagascar) are indeed protected by the Washington Convention, which has prohibited their trade since 1992 and 2013 respectively. They have therefore become very rare today, as only pieces predating the ban can still be sold. From a home and investment perspective, a safe value that no longer depreciates and gains a little value each year. It works very well with contemporary styles (light sofa, neutral walls). In good condition. Please feel free to contact me for more information or photos.
