Collector's art object, a chawan in celadon by one of the greatest potters of the late meiji era and the taisho era. He was one of only five potters in the court of emperor taisho. This chawan of suwa sozan I 蘇山 (1852-1922) is all the more exceptional as it was calligraphed by the hand of a very great buddhist monk, calligrapher: seki rozan. The chawan is accompanied by its original wooden box (tomobako) signed by the hand of the two artists. Suwa sozan is a potter recognized and collected all over the world, he has gained this notoriety thanks to his exceptional work on celadon.
