This chawan of suwa sozan I 蘇山 (1852-1922) is all the more exceptional as it was calligraphed by the hand of a very great buddhist monk, calligrapher: seki rozan. The chawan is accompanied by its original wooden box (tomobako) signed by the hand of the two artists. Suwa sozan is a potter recognized and collected all over the world, he has gained this notoriety thanks to his exceptional work on celadon.
