Old silver pigeon lamp

Real silver vintage kerosene lamp composed of: – a cylindrical metal foot stamped: "pigeon lamp – genuine guarantee" – a tank to contain mineral spirit. – a globe/verrine in fine rounded glass. This luminaire was invented in 1882 by charles pigeon who sought to create a secure lamp at a very affordable cost. The first patent was filed in 1884 and the pigeon lamp was presented at the universal exhibition of 1900. This lamp will be perfect to bring a subdued lighting to your interior, while adding a retro touch. It is also a perfect gift for a collector of objects of yesteryear. Sold in its own juice. H 24 cm.
