Still Life with Herring and Tomatoes, 1937. Oil on panel. Signed lower right. 27 X 35 cm. Titled and dated on a label on the back, upper left. And studio stamp. Framed. Listed artist on Artprice. Exhibits regularly in Paris: Salon d'Automne - Salon des Artistes Français. He prefers to paint on a small scale in order to create maximum intensity in a minimum of space. Friend of the painters Pougny, Kvapil, and André Lhote, as well as the art critic Claude Roger Marx, Who wrote an article in Le Figaro upon the artist's death entitled: "The painter Robert Simon died with a paintbrush in his hand.".
