Industrial workbench

Impressive workbench 4m long (3.97m to be precise) with 6 large drawers making all the depth of the cabinet and a shelf under the right third (removed on some photos), 4 sets of feet with braces. This workbench of the first half of the twentieth century, has a fir structure, solid, robust, bolted, with a large section of wood used, the feet are 9.5cm by 7.5cm. Its beech top is 4.5cm thick. we positioned slabs under the front feet because the floor was not level, the workbench being obviously square. it comes from an old workshop, we have kept its finish, several shades of paint, it is very worn in places, mainly on the tray. We removed as many tasks as possible, washed the whole thing, and cleared it of nails, screws, washers, scrap metal elements... the carpentry is in very good condition, some snags and missing visible on the photos, traces of uses and fixing tools on the tray, proof of its authenticity, but which can of course be masked, plugged, depending on the desired destination. the cross structure of the feet serves of course to bring solidity to the furniture but it also brings a very graphic aspect reminiscent of the well-known metal constructions of the nineteenth century! It can serve as a large work plan, thus regaining its primary usefulness. But also serve as a row by adding shelves in the lower part of the furniture and thus accommodate large bins or storage drawers to the appropriate size, in wood, metal or wicker, or even be redesigned, transformed into a central island with hob, sink..., or into a huge table of industrial type with a total height of 76cm from the bottom of the low crossmember of the braces to the tray included.
