Large ceramic fish dish by the italian ceramist giovanni desimone. Giovanni de simone was born in 1930 and opened his studio after the second world war around 1947. He was a famous italian ceramist who studied at the school of ceramics in faenza, italy, where he was taught by angel biancini and anselmo bucci. he worked from his studio in palermo where he used baking to make the lead-free colors permanent on his majolica ceramics. his work is characterized by intense colors and his drawing style is often compared to that of picasso. many claim that he studied under picasso, although there is no historical evidence to support it. 39x26, an email jump on the back of the tail.
