Old Gothic chest

Splendid portuguese colonial chest of gothic period. Dating approximately from the sixteenth century. Dimensions: 151 X 63 X 53 high. Presenting an exceptional state of preservation, it is finely carved with architectural and romantic motifs of the time. The lock and handle are original, the key is missing. Made of walnut wood, it rests on two parallel bases. This type of crates was used for the transport of gold, precious stones, sugar and coffee.
