Neoclassical Hirch stamped planter

Beautiful neoclassical style indoor planter in black lacquered wood and hand-painted gilt threads. Circa 1960. Stamped m. Hirch under the crosspiece. Maurice Hirsch was a renowned decorator in the 60s/70s. Crotch shelf, draped handles in gilded bronze, moldings of the sheaths and tips of the feet in gilded brass. Missing the interior zinc tray. The planter has been completely re-lacquered and the bronzes and brasses cleaned and polished. Very good condition.
