J&J Khon Wien 1900 vintage bistro chair

Wooden bistro chair turned in excellent condition bearing a label John and Joseph Kohn Wien and a J & J Kohn Teschen Austria stamp. Seat wooden little story: Jacob Kohn founded in 1849 the company, initially in the timber In 1867, he joined with his son Josef Kohn and directs the company to furniture. The expiry of the patent of the brothers Thonet on the bentwood technique allows them to soon offer their own range of products. With branches in Berlin, Paris, London and Hamburg, Kohn becomes from 1882 one of the leading manufacturers of furniture in Austria-Hungary and enrolled as one of the main competitors of the company Thonet. The works of the Kohn House can be seen in a number of museums today, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Barcelona design museum and the Museum of fine arts of Montreal.
