Large ice bucket or champagne cooler in polished and brushed stainless steel, model “La tête au cube”, designed by Thierry d’Istria and published by Pylones Paris. A beautiful piece of French design from the 1990s–2000s, both sculptural, playful, and functional. The openwork decoration forming a scalloped frieze around the upper edge actually incorporates a series of bottle openers hidden within the pattern, a particularly clever detail typical of Thierry d’Istria's work: the function here becomes a true graphic element. The play of light created by the cutouts gives the object a very decorative, almost architectural presence. It can be used as: an ice bucket, a champagne cooler, a centrepiece, or a contemporary decorative object.
