Bronze chiseled box

Old chiseled bronze jewelry box with an inlaid interior. Extremely fine chiseling work. Beautiful piece characteristic of islamic art using repetitive geometric patterns and incorporating calligraphy, most certainly verses from the koran. Very nice work of swivel clasp and hinges also chiseled. Origin morocco. Approximate dating early twentieth. Dimensions 11.5 cm X 11.5 cm, height 8 cm, interior depth capacity 7.5 cm thanks to a clever set of wooden veneers. Weight 505 g. Very nice workmanship.
