Rare and elegant circular coffee table resting on a tripod base in gilded bronze, with a bold design and great finesse of execution. The curved and slender legs give the whole piece a sculptural presence while maintaining perfect visual lightness. The top, a true decorative work, features sumptuous marquetry of marbles and hard stones, organised around a geometrically precise star motif. This composition, inherited from the Art Deco vocabulary, harmoniously combines marbles in rosy hues, subtly veined green onyx stones, and large dark areas that highlight the rigour of the design. The interplay of materials, colours, and reflections gives the surface remarkable depth and visual richness, changing with the light and angle of view. The whole piece is a testament to high decorative craftsmanship, where the quality of materials rivals the demands of execution. The table evokes the most refined French or Italian productions of the mid-20th century and can be compared, in spirit and level of execution, to the creations of Maison Charles, Baguès, Jansen, or similar workshops specialising in bronze and hard stone furniture. Perfectly proportioned, this coffee table fits seamlessly into both classic interiors and contemporary decor, where it will bring a strong, elegant, and timeless signature. Origin: France or Italy Dating: circa 1960 Dimensions: Height: 42 cm Diameter: 64 cm In very good condition A rare and decorative piece, at the crossroads of Art Deco and Neoclassicism, intended for lovers of characterful furniture and exceptional interiors.
