On a thick tubular black metal frame it has 4 colourful round wooden ball knobs in 3 colours, red, green and yellow and also has a fabulous brick red perforated metal triangular grill to perfect the design. Suitable for coats, scarves or whatever you need to hang up and it also has a shelf for hats and bags which is begging for a delightful original train case to be perched on it. Superbly french but also with quintessential mid century atomic style, from an era when colour and futuristic design were the epitome of post-war era home style. It would look stunning in any hall, foyer, porch or vestibule. It has two holes to fix it to the wall but you will need to find your own screws. The ideal gift for anyone with a love of mid-century modern style and a great decorators piece. Ideal for a guest room or even as a prop for a 1950s/60s period theatrical production. In very good vintage condition with some points to note: the structure is very strong and functional and the black paint is remarkably unflawed. But the lacquer on the wooden balls has not survived so well. The green ones are not too mad and there is just a couple of knocks to the yellow one but the red has some quite obvious loss all over one side. You could of course touch up or re-paint them but this is its natural vintage state and I feel the condition enhances its authenticity. If I was keeping it I would give them a light spray with clear varnish, or buff with a good wax, just to prevent any further loss of colour. Please see all photos and remember it is around 60 years old, pre-owned and pre-loved. Approx measurements: Width - 75 cm. Height - 40 cm. Depth - 25 cm. Knobs - 6 cm diameter.
