Large service tray in wood marquetry

Superb large vintage serving tray in wood marquetry. Elegant octagonal shape with an openwork gallery and turned wooden handles. Handmade, probably from the 1960s-1970s. The marquetry is made up of many different types of wood, including some exotic ones, assembled with remarkable precision. The symmetrical geometric pattern adds a lot of character to this decorative piece, which is as beautiful as it is useful. Ideal as a serving tray, centrepiece, or vintage decorative object.
