Berber rug boujaad vintage atlas

The boujaad region is located near the atlas mountains where carpets are traditionally woven by berber women for domestic use. The rich, colorful and wonderfully wild composition gives insight into the culture and environment. The figures reflect the rich colorful spring of the mountains. Before the 80s, carpets were created almost exclusively from undyed brown wool on a cream background. Clear geometric designs and cultural expressions chosen at random by the weavers.
