Ancient glazed terracotta pot from the 19th century, south-west France.

Beautiful old terracotta pot, turned and glazed, decorated with large polychrome drips in green, yellow-ochre, and manganese brown. The piece has a bulbous shape tapering towards the base, highlighted by four handles applied under the neck, characteristic of a regional artisanal production from the south of France. The work is probably datable to the 19th century, in the spirit of traditional productions from Languedoc and the South-West, with a possible stylistic proximity to the pottery of Castelnaudary. Dimensions: height 24 cm – diameter approximately 27 cm. Overall good condition for its age, with patina, glaze cracks, small irregularities, and signs of use consistent with an old pottery. There are a few small superficial losses of glaze at the neck, related to use and age, without notable damage to the terracotta. The base is pierced, probably for horticultural use or an old transformation into a planter. No notable cracks or chips.
