Lame Aida - Cassina

Renowned for his considered and controlled approach to materials, the Italian architect, sculptor, and designer Angelo Mangiarotti is the creator of the Aida lamp, which almost defies the law of gravity with its visual offset between the base and the lampshade, while diffusing a pleasant ambient light. Mangiarotti designed the beautifully balanced silhouette of Aida inspired by the principles of his famous architecture, characterised by slender and elegant pillars that seem too weak to support large and heavy ceilings.
