Space Age style ceiling lamp in organge plastic, 1960s

Glossy orange plastic spherical diffuser with Space Age lines. This Space Age ceiling lamp recalls the Italian production from the 1960s, especially the “Pallade” model, designed in 1968 by Studio Tetrarch for Artemide. The collective, composed of Adelaide Bonati, Silvio Bonatti, Enrico De Munari and Carla Federspiel, developed a design language focused on essential geometric forms, synthetic materials and experimental lighting, key themes of radical Italian design at the time. The term Space Age identifies the futuristic aesthetic born during the space race, characterized by spherical volumes, plastic surfaces and bold colors. The compact silhouette and saturated orange finish perfectly reflect this language, strongly associated with Artemide production at the end of the decade. Its glossy plastic body spreads a soft and even light while maintaining a sculptural presence even when switched off. Good conditions. It may show signs of age.
