Savoyard Larch dresser furniture 17th century china cabinet pantry Alpine Folk Art

Exceptional and very rare piece of furniture. Ideal dimensions for living room or dining room. Furniture in very good general condition. Dresser acquired at the price of 50, 000 francs in 1996 from a savoyard antique dealer. (the invoice will be given to the buyer) - height: 194 cm - width (cornice): 176 cm - depth (central horizontal shelf): 47 cm - a shelf (savoyard dresser), furniture in a single body, upper part in slight recess opening on the right side with two solid superimposed doors assembled by two interior keys and molded in full wood with a diamond and an X. They are fixed by small fittings nailed to the molded frame assembled with pegged tenons and mortises, forming two large niches divided by shelves. The upper part was used to store dishes, the saddles (wooden buckets) were placed next to the water reserve, on the lower part. The enclosed spaces are the pantries. The sides, top and bottom radius are made of two massive boards joined together with wedges. The frame is attached to it with a few forged nails. The top board overhangs, forming a cornice. The bottom is made up of vertical boards, sliding in two grooves. Shows beautiful traces of hand sawing. Larch furniture from the briançon region, late 17th century. The restorations are located on the lower part eaten away by humidity.
