African Salampasu Mask

African mask, salampasu ethnic group from congo. Presumed dating circa 1960. Materials wood and fabrics. Sold with metal base. Salampasu masks are characterized by a domed forehead, slanted eyes, a triangular nose and a rectangular mouth with filed teeth. It was used for initiation ceremonies linked to warrior society.
