Blown glass pitcher with bubbles from Biot – amber colour

Blown glass pitcher from Biot, amber hue. Curved silhouette, handle applied hot, numerous bubbles trapped in the mass, traditional craftsmanship of the glassmakers of Biot. Signed Biot under the base, this pitcher is part of the emblematic production of Biot glassware, recognised since the mid-20th century for its bubble glass technique inspired by ancient Provençal glassworks. Each piece is individually blown, making each example slightly unique. In good vintage condition, with slight surface wear located on the body, due to usage friction, visible depending on the light angle (see photos). Height 20 cm, maximum diameter 12 cm, opening diameter 9 cm, estimated capacity approximately 1.2 litres. A piece chosen for the depth of its amber as well as for the light it diffuses.
