Superb Murano "Sommerso" catchall or ashtray designed by Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d'Arte (Murano, Italy, 1970s). Made of thick burgundy, orange and transparent glass. Perfectly works as an ashtray, a vide poche, a catchall or just as a display piece on any table. Extremely decorative. Length: 8 cm; width: 8 cm; height: 6.5 cm. Weight: 0.8 kg. Excellent vintage condition. No chips, no cracks, no flea bites. "Sommerso" (Italian for ''submerged'') is a technique developed in Murano in the 1930s which became very popular in the 1950s-70s. The result is a glass with contrasting colours that is commonly cased by a transparent layer.
