Dining chairs in the style of Sentou's Dordogne model, straw and wood, France, 1964, set of 4. The chairs have a simple and timeless design. The fancy straw backrest and seat combined with the pine wood structure form a truly balanced composition. The wooden elements of the lower part, front and side, thin imperceptibly at the very end, creating a fascinating and elegant feel. These dining chairs are one of the most famous series designed for the french furniture house robert sentou. At the beginning of her professional career, charlotte perriand (1903-1999) was critically acclaimed for her bar sous le toit, exhibited at the salon d'automne in 1927 and built entirely in nickel-plated copper and anodized aluminum. The same year, at only twenty-four years old, she began a ten-year collaboration with le corbusier and pierre jeanneret in the famous design studios at 35 rue de sèvres in paris...slight signs of use and time.
