The dogon people live in southeastern mali and burkina faso. The african ladders of the dogon generally provide access to the terraces of homes, or to the small door giving access to the millet reserve in the attics. This is a monoxyl piece entirely made by hand. For practical purposes the "y" top is necessary so that the climber can lean the ladder safely against a tree or wall without the ladder rolling. Given its historical and cultural character, for the dogon tribe, the top of the ladder recalls the toguna support pillar, which in turn evokes nommo, a fundamental character in dogon mythology who, with raised arms, seems to pray for beg for rain. With its ethnic and authentic style, this ladder will bring an incomparable touch to your interior. This scale contains imperfections and traces of use, the manufacturing being artisanal, you have the assurance of a timeless piece of history, authenticity and tradition. Approximate dimensions height: 217 cm diameter: 15 cm.
