Former home of karl lagerfeld, in hamburg, villa jako. On the banks of the elbe, and on the hillside of the exclusive hamburg district of blankenese, stands a 1920s madness. It is villa jako, a residence built by architect walter baedeker whose columned façade is inspired by the classical design of a roman mansion. As secretive as it was luxurious, it was the haven of peace for the german designer in the 90s.
