“lumières de la ville” glass paste table lamp, nancy. Art nouveau from france nancy/vintage. Glass paste is a prestigious material which gives the lamp a delicate and refined appearance. This type of glass, colored and textured, diffuses a soft and warm light, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The glass is mouth-blown and opened hot by hand. The glass coloring technique used here was invented by emile gallé in the 19th century. The “city light” collection, inspired by urban lights, reflections and the ambiance of cities, brings a piece of this atmosphere to your interior. The pieces manufactured by “lumières de la ville” are unique pieces. This glass coloring technique was invented by emile gallé in the 19th century. Gallé and daum, natives of nancy, in lorraine, are undoubtedly the most significant figures in the art of glass in the 19th century and brought glory to the nancy school founded by emile gallé. They excelled in ancient techniques. A century later, the masters of the nancy school, in 1976, “lumières de la ville” created and manufactured the first models of lights in glass paste, using ancestral processes. Our lamp is a very beautiful piece and in very good condition. No cracks (see photos) height 33 cm, diameter 11.5 cm weight 1, 050 kg.
