Important gilded carved wooden console – Marble top – Louis XV / Rocaille style. Very elegant console in carved and gilded wood, in the Louis XV style, featuring a rich Rocaille decoration. The undulating and openwork frieze is abundantly carved with scrolls, foliage, shells, and Rocaille motifs. It rests on four strongly curved legs, also carved and gilded, finished with scrolls. The legs are joined by a undulating stretcher, adorned in its centre with a significant leaf motif, bringing lightness and balance to the whole. The console is topped with a beautiful veined white marble top, moulded and shaped to follow the movements of the frieze. The gilding, slightly patinated in places, elegantly highlights the depth and richness of the sculpture. A spectacular and very decorative console, ideal for an entrance, a living room, or under a large mirror. Style: Louis XV – Rocaille. Material: carved and gilded wood. Top: veined white marble.
