Callimaco floor lamp by Ettore Sottsass for Artemide Italy

This floor lamp was designed by the famous designer ettore sotsass for the italian publishing house artemide in 1982.  in 1981, the designer founded memphis. With the financial support of artemide's boss, the group became an immediate success. Innovative, playful shapes with bright colors made up of assemblies of simple but cheerful shapes, with cheap materials.   The callimaco floor lamp is characterized by its innovative and colorful design specific to the memphis movement. The overall structure is made of metal. It consists of a grey conical base topped by a beige cylindrical body with a chrome handle. A dimmer is also integrated. The vertex is an inverted cone  It diffuses a soft light thanks to its led bulb. In very good condition, fully overhauled by an electrician.
